Michael R. Hartigan

Michael Hartigan is the Managing Partner at Hartigan & O’Connor, LLC. He began his career as a Cook County Assistant’s State’s Attorney, Civil Actions Bureau defending the Office of the Cook County Sheriff in state and federal court. In 2004, he joined what is now Hartigan and O’Connor and has amassed numerous victories on behalf of his clients ever since.
Michael has devoted a substantial amount of his practice to municipal and insurance defense. He has also successfully defended self-insured entities, primarily within the transportation services industry.

Education

Earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminology/Law Studies, graduating cum laude from Marquette University in 1997.

Obtained a Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in 2000.

Patrick H. O’Connor

Patrick H. O’Connor has been a Partner at Hartigan & O’Connor, LLC since its inception. He began his legal career with the firm (then Russell W. Hartigan & Associates) in 1991.

Education

Completed a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1988.

Graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctor from the Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1991.

Served as a Law Review member and was honored with the Francis G. May Award for Achievement in Criminal Law.
